12 Month Workmanship Guarantee

Last updated: 23/09/2026

What we promise

We guarantee the workmanship of every repair we carry out for 12 months from the date the work is completed.

If a repair fails within that period because of the way we carried it out, we will put it right at our own cost. That means we will re-do the repair, or if that is not reasonably possible, refund what you paid for it.

What is covered

Paint or lacquer on a repaired area lifting, flaking, peeling or delaminating
Filler or repair material sinking, cracking or shrinking back
A repaired dent returning without any fresh impact
Tint film bubbling, peeling, lifting at the edges or discolouring
Colour match on a repaired area failing beyond a reasonable degree of fade
What is not covered

This guarantee covers our workmanship only. It does not cover:

Accidental damage of any kind after the repair
Any fresh impact to the repaired area, however minor, including further kerbing, car park knocks and trolley damage
Work carried out by anyone else on or around the repaired area after we have finished, including polishing, machine correction, other repairs or accident repair
Neglect, or failure to maintain the vehicle reasonably
Pressure washing or jet washing the repaired area within 30 days of the repair, or at close range at any time
Failure to follow the aftercare instructions we gave you
Winding down tinted windows within three days of fitting
Stone chips, road debris, vandalism, fire, flood or accident
Corrosion or paint failure spreading from an area outside the one we repaired
Pre-existing damage, rust, or previous repairs carried out by others
Normal fade, weathering and wear consistent with the age of the vehicle
Damage from chemicals, solvents, bird droppings, tree sap or road salt left on the paintwork
Vehicles used in circumstances beyond normal road use
Transfer of the guarantee

This guarantee is personal to the customer who paid for the work and is not transferable if the vehicle is sold.

How to claim

Contact us at info@scuffmannie.co.uk or +447879550165 as soon as you notice the problem, and within the 12-month period.
Tell us the vehicle registration, the approximate date of the original work, and what has gone wrong. Photographs help.
We will arrange to inspect the vehicle, either at your location or at our unit, at a time that suits.
If the fault is covered, we will rectify it at no charge, normally within 14 days of inspection.
We need to inspect the vehicle before any remedial work is carried out. If you have the repair put right by someone else without giving us the opportunity to inspect it first, this guarantee no longer applies to that repair and we will not reimburse third-party costs.

Your statutory rights

This guarantee is offered in addition to your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and does not affect them in any way. Under that Act, services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, and you may be entitled to repeat performance or a price reduction where they are not.

Pricing

The prices shown on this website are indicative starting prices for straightforward work on a standard vehicle. They are not offers, and they are not quotations. The price for your vehicle depends on the size, depth and location of the damage, the vehicle itself, the paint or film specification, and where the work is carried out. A firm price is given only after we have seen the vehicle.

We are not registered for VAT. No VAT is added to our prices.

Photo quotes

Prices given on the basis of photographs are estimates. Photographs cannot always show the true depth of damage, cracking beneath a painted surface, or damage to underlying structure. If the damage is more extensive than the images showed, we will tell you the revised price before starting, and you are free to decline at no cost.

Turnaround times

Timescales quoted on this site are typical rather than guaranteed. Weather, temperature, curing times, parts availability and the condition of the vehicle all affect how long a job takes.

Images of our work

Before and after images on this site are photographs of work we have carried out. Lighting, camera angle and screen calibration mean that on-screen images may not represent exactly how a finish will appear in person. Individual results vary with the vehicle, its age and the condition of the existing paintwork.

Window tint legality

Information on this site about UK tinting law is provided in good faith as general guidance and is not legal advice. Tint legality depends on the combined light transmission of your vehicle’s own glass and any film applied. We measure front glass before fitting and will not apply film that takes a vehicle outside the legal limits, but it remains the vehicle keeper’s responsibility to ensure their vehicle complies with the law, to declare the modification to their insurer, and to check the terms of any lease or finance agreement.

Vehicle suitability

Not all damage is suitable for smart repair. Structural damage, badly split or cracked bumpers, and severe corrosion require a full body shop. Where a repair is not appropriate we will say so rather than carry out work that will not last.
